Meiji Shrine History Walking Tour

2025.03.24 - 2025.06.27About This Event
Discover the timeless beauty of Tokyo’s Meiji Shrine, a sacred forest sanctuary hidden in the heart of the city.
Walk beneath Japan’s largest and most majestic wooden torii gate, feeling the shift from the city's energy to a world of peace and reflection. Stroll through a serene, century-old sacred forest, where every step brings you closer to nature and tradition.
Learn the art of purification and prayer at the shrine, immersing yourself in the graceful rituals of Shinto spirituality.
You’ll have a chance to write your heartfelt wishes on colorful ema plaques or draw a traditional omikuji fortune, embracing a centuries-old practice of hope and reflection.
You’ll also visit the revered Married Couple Trees, a powerful symbol of harmony, love, and lasting connection.
Finally, unwind in Meiji Jingu Gyoen — a tranquil garden once reserved for the imperial family. Sit by the pond, listen to the rustling leaves, and let the peaceful surroundings offer a moment of quiet retreat. A perfect ending to a deeply meaningful experience.
